2023 look back

I don't know about you, but 2023 has been a busy year for me, both personally and professionally.

January

Since this month can be quite depressing, with short daylight and rainy weather, I decided to escape to the sun in order to get my Yin Yoga Teacher certification. I went to Tenerife for a week and came back certified. I started teaching Yin classes and the more I was teaching and practicing, the more I loved it!

February

I ran a Headstand workshop in different studios in January, February and March.

The headstand pose is one that I worked on a lot during lockdown, and one that I was so afraid of doing and get away from a wall. One day, it just clicked and I realised that, not only I was strong enough to get in and out of the pose with ease but that the wall was becoming useless for me. Sharing these learnings were such a magical moment, so thank you to everyone who joined!

April

I took some time that month to attend a workshop rather than teaching it.

I learned a lot over than weekend and also enjoyed a wonderful sound bath on a Friday evening. I left the studio as if I was walking on a cloud, my brain empty and my body loose. I highly recommend trying this out!

May

On the personal side, I went to Greece for the first time and I fell in love with the country! We visited Corfu, Kefalonia and Athens and honestly, out of all the countries I visited in Europe, this one stole my heart! The effect was so big that I am now planning to go back there in 2024...

June-July-August

Since my summer break was already done, I've been teaching a lot over the summer with an average of 5 classes a week. It was tough sometimes, but also so rewarding. I am always afraid that I'll get bored of teaching or won't have inspiration to create flows anymore, but that didn't happen. I was busy and happy!

September

I was due to go on a Yoga Teacher Training in Greece in November but learned that month that it wouldn't go through...

I spent a week looking for an alternative, reaching out to other schools and teachers to do my training anyways and making sure that my manager at work would be OK with me taking holidays at a different time.

I all worked out OK, after a week of panicking, I found a training with a French school and got both excited and scared about it.

November

The first part of my 300 hours Yoga Teacher Training took place that month and it is hard to put words on what happened during these two weeks in Morocco.

The weather was amazing, the place was unreal and the people I met were so nice and knowledgable, that I started to see the long road ahead in order to perfect my teaching skills. I love learning, especially on topics that I like, so I am now looking forward to the second part of the training in March!

December

I started thinking about the year ahead, what I wanted to do and where I wanted to teach. Sometimes, we have to step outside of our comfort zone to see other possibilities and opportunities out there and that's what I've decided to do.

I am so grateful to be adding two new classes to my schedule in 2024:

  • Skerries, in the Community Centre, on Fridays

  • Violet Sky Studio, in Airside (Swords), on Wednesdays

And I am also back in the St Macullins Centre in Lusk every Mondays.

Looking forward to see you on the mat and to share more of what I love.
